Review: Fans of The Wish will enjoy this futuristic AU story. Again short, the next books are stronger. This first part of the book is the same as the end of the first book: Buffy encouners August, the current Slayer, locked up in her cell with her. After the encounter, Buffy heads back towards Sunnydale to find it infested with vampires. She encounters old foes (Parker, Spike, Drusilla, and Harmony) and old friends (the Slayerettes) but things still aren't looking up. In the past, the story as to how things ended up as they are concludes as Xander, Willow, Anya, Oz, and Lucy discover that Buffy is being possessed by a being known as the Prophet. The story falls together peferectly, especially towards the end, and Spike, Drusilla, Harmony, and Parker's roles are all terrific through this book. Three and Half Stars.
