And Rupert Giles is Vampire King.
Buffy can hold no one but herself responsible for this grim possible future; her own insecurities and petty jealousies led to this moment. She must now gather her inner strength and combat the demon that inhabits the corpse of her most trusted mentor. With the help of Willow and the Slayerettes, Bufy must invoke the elements, stave off a vampire stronghold, and return to her real-time boyd--but not before identifying and preventing the misstep that brought about the oppression of those she holds closest...

Review: And so it concludes and this stronger (and a bit longer) conclusiong to this four-part book. Angel returns in this fourth installment (w/o mention of Cordelia), and everything falls into place. Buffy and the Slayerettes go to confront Giles in his headquarters with Council members backing them up (preparing to take out Giles, Camaztoz, and the rest of the vampires) while Anna and Wesley secure things throughout Sunnydale. Buffy needs to stay through the end of all this, to make sure even in this bleak future that things turn out better. Sadly, after all four of these books, numerous of our favorite characters won't survive. But, after the battle in the future, with the help of Buffy, Willow, and Lucy, the Slayer is able to return to her own time to stop what went wrong. It's quite intense and a climatic conclusion. A definate Four Stars.
