SPOILERS
Characters

The sixth season of Buffy is over, so there's a good chance that events that occured during that since will occur during Shadow of the Slayer. But, a lot of things that didn't happen during the sixth season will happen, and things about character will be different or altered. For August, the spoilers will give brief summaries about how the main will be changed during SotS. If you were hoping for Buffy spoilers (hopefully that'll catch your eye) go to The Spoiler Slayer. That's all. Oh well, enjoy:
Willow - One of the main reasons I'm doing a rewrite of this season is to play out how Willow's storyline could have gone (or at least how it was going from up until Smashed/Wrecked). There won't be any druggyWillow in Shadow of the Slayer but BlackMagickWillow will be appearing at the very end of this miniseries. One of the main differences between this Willow and the Willow from S6 is that she never goes to the innocent magickless Willow again, and the reasons for her going overboard are more gradual and more built up, and revolve around not only Tara, but Buffy.
Spike - Another character who got screwed over this season. There will be no Buffy/Spike during Shadow of the Slayer, but it's obvious that Spike still has strong feelings for Buffy. Mainly Spike is trying to figure out what he should do now that Buffy is back, which will not conclude with him trying to get a soul. If anything, his main goal will be to try to free Buffy, help (as Willow is trying to do during Shadow). Spike will continue to help the Scoobies as well, but there will be a lot of friction mainly between Spike and Willow...
Faith - Upon being freed from prison to help Sunnydale's demon overload, Faith will join up with the Scoobies, though not to be Buffy's replacement. There will be tension amongst Xander, Anya, and Willow mostly when it comes to the Rogue Slayer, and a strange alliance with Spike will occur during hard times. Although Faith has shown signs of change, her feelings for Buffy are just as strong as everyone elses, and she is deeply troubled about the other Slayer.
Xander - Not much will change about Xander. Things around Xander will change, and he will be forced to stand alone and stand up against people he feared he would never have to.
Anya - Just like in Season Six, Anya will return to her demon ways, only things will be a little bit different, in the way that Anya is forced to become a demon again. This will be both a shock and a relief to her, and a real shock for Xander when she refuses to try to find a way to go back to being human. Anya will also find herself aiding both Faith and Spike during the end of Shadow of the Slayer.
Tara - Not too much will change about this character. Her death will not trigger BlackMagickWillow, mainly because BMW will already be existant when she dies. Why am I still killing Tara? Mainly because only one or two of the characters listed her will still be alive (as illustrated in the Prologue Chapter of the first episode), but I'm giving you a heads up. Tara's magick will be more necessary during Shadow.
Giles - Giles will be around more during Shadow of the Slayer. Giles will continue to do what he did during Season Six, but will also continue to have connections with the Council of Watchers. Other than that, it is mainly Giles who is pulling in a lot of the outside help that will appear during this miniseries (including Faith, Angel, and a list of other characters).
Dawn - Read The Fallen.
Buffy - Click back now if you wish to read what happens to Buffy during The Fallen (this will be the big shock, so don't continue reading it if you don't want to be spoiled). Basically, after what happens to Dawn, Buffy goes out of her mind, and remains in a similar to state to how she was during Bargaining Part II, in the sense that she doesn't know what's going on. She's insane. Nothing went wrong with the spell, it worked, but the circumstances were too overwhelming and it more or less broke Buffy. Willow claims that she will be able to save Buffy, who is when she begins to go overboard with magicks. She will then later attempt to use Faith as a way to save Buffy. All the events will be centering around Buffy's restoration, and Buffy herself will only appear off and on, and never fully sane.
