BUFFY

Tempted Champions

Buffy has faced many vampiric villains in her time: Lothos, The Master, Spike and Drusilla, Angelus, Kakistos, and of course the legendary Dracula. All of which she managed to over come, with a little help from her Slayerettes from time to time. But now, the Slayer meets a deadly vampire she could never have been prepared to face: Celina, a vampire that nearly killed two vampires from Buffy's past.

But this vicious vampire isn't the only demon skulking about the neighborhood. After a close call with the vampiress Celina, Anya has a break down at Xander's apartment only to be comforted by D'Hoffryn, her old demon boss. And now she's tempted with a offer she may not turn down: A return to her demon-self. But will she give up her romance with Xander and her friendships she's forged?

It will all boil down to choices in the end. But will the Slayer make the right choice when she faces against this vicious vampire? Will Anya choice to return to her demonic roots? And what is this vampiress's twisted plan, that has brought her down to the Mouth of Hell...

Starring: Buffy, Xander, Willow, Anya, Tara, Spike, Dawn, with Giles.
Supporting Cast: Angel, Celina, and D'Hoffryn.
Review: This is a Buffy-centric and an Anya-centric book. It's also the only Season Five book written for young adults so far. Sadly, these are the only reasons I'd buy the book. The back of the book (the summary above was written by me) reveals way too much, and basically explains what'll happen in the book. Besides that, it's all a little lame. It's not a very well played out book. My suggestion: Watch Hell's Bells and then read the book (it'll make it seem better). But, if you like Anya, then I recommend this book. Sadly they play the Angel-card again, which ruins the story because he does nothing. It just it's.... bleh. The things you could look forward to is reading Dawn (maybe), Anya-centric, it takes place during S5, and Riley's not there! Hurray. Sadly, this only gets Two Stars....maybe less.
